Equal Opportunity Play

OK, I just thought this was funny! Mailee's toolbox broke and yet she "needed" to get her tools into the other room. So here is her solution... she dumped the baby and carefully loaded her tools into the baby carrier. Problem Solved!!!

Apparently she comes from the same school of thought as Uncle Dan who thought his sister's purse was a great carrying case for his Matchbox cars!!! Whatever works, right?!?

Lil' Artist

In her Easter Basket from Grandma and Grandpa, Mailee got her first paint book. It is one of those ones where you dip a brush in water and the colors appear on the pictures. Today, I set her up and showed her how to do it. It only took (literally) 3 seconds for her to get the gist. She took the brush, dipped it in water, and was SO SERIOUS going about her work!

Maybe it'll be an art scholarship we'll be going after...

Happy Easter!

Easter was fantastic! We had our family over to the new house for an awesome day of food, bubble-chasing, and egg hunting! Mailee was the Belle of the Ball in her Easter finery. What a beautiful day! Thank you Jesus! He is Risen Indeed!

Easter Practice

This morning was an Easter Egg Hunt at our new church. It was Mailee' s first experience hunting for eggs. She got one in each hand and was happy just to shake them. The older kids were so thoughtful, making sure that Mailee had enough eggs. She was happy as a clam! On top of the egg hunt, she just liked carrying her basket like a purse! I don't think she ever figured out that there were prizes inside. (Even after I opened one and helped myself to a Hershey's Kiss! Shhhh!)

Daddy's Dentist Appointment

Mailee was so good waiting for Daddy to have a tooth pulled. She climbed up into a waiting room chair and "read" for a while. And she does not follow Mommy's taste in "garbage magazines" either. This little one chose Smithsonian and Science mags. Apparently, she is above Cosmo and People already!!! The rest of the time she brushed her teeth with the special toothbrush that the hygenist gave her. What a doll!

Poor Daddy, though, he had to get his big tooth pulled and has been down for the count for 2 days now! We hope he feels better soon!!!

18 Months Already!!!

Today was so cool! Since moving back to the Santa Clarita Valley, we have had to change a lot of things (obviously!) One of those things was Mailee's pediatrician. I was so excited to see that one of my pediatricians from when I was a little tyke, was on our insurance list. Not only did Dr. Feldman remember me, but she seemed to have a photographic memory for my whole family (and various illness and ailments) even from more than 20 years ago!!! She also thought it was very fun to now be the doctor for MY daughter. What a blessing that she is still practicing here and will take amazing care of Munchkin Mailee!

So for those who have been following... Here are the latest stats:

height - 33 1/4 inches -- 90th%

weight - 26 1/4 pounds -- 77th%

She has totally caught up from the 7th% she started at just 18 months ago!!!

She also got 3 shots today and was quite a trooper. In this picture you can't see the 2 band-aids hidden under her skirt. She actually loved getting "stickers on her legs!" What a clever nurse!
(Oh yeah, and she is again walking in "Mama Shoes"
all the while, keeping a very protective grip on her milk! Talented girl!)

Caught a Cutie!

You ever take a picture and there is no real story behind it, but it is just cute and you wanna share???

Yesterday was a normal day, hanging around the house. Nothing special. But everyday with Mailee is an adventure and she is just so cute! We really are sooooo blessed!

Playing Dress Up

OK, so I thought we were a long way away from needing dress-up clothes and those shiny shoes that I have seen at Costco. My neices are pros at walking in those crazy plastic bedazzled heels, but they are older than Mailee.

HOWEVER...

Plastic necklaces have been a part of our life for a few months now, but Mailee's favorite thing to do lately is to go into my closet and pull out shoes to slip her foot into and cruise around the room. Now anyone who knows me and my fashion habits knows that many of my shoes can be hazardous to your health due to their platform-ness (is that a word???) So I have tried to steer her toward the tennis shoes (running shoes should be used for something, right??? I certainly have not used them in a while...) But Mini Miss does not seem to like running shoes any more than I do. She has, however, figured out how to get my thong sandals on (sort-of) Notice the one that she has managed to get up her leg ! :)
The silly look on her face shows you how proud of herself she is as she exclaims, "SHOO SHOOZ!"

Sitting Pretty

I just LOVE this outfit and Mailee is so dang cute sometimes! She loves to climb up on the couch and sit "like a big girl." It only lasts a few seconds, then it is off and running again, but to catch her on camera being my adorable little girl, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share!

Where did my baby go? I ask every day!
